In Slovakia, the campaign culminates today before the decisive second round of the direct presidential election. According to analysts, it was more pronounced than before the first round of voting in March.

On Saturday, Slovaks will decide whether career diplomat Ivan Korčok or Parliament Speaker Peter Pellegrini will become the new head of state.

During the moratorium, for example, the publication of the results of polls for the presidential election will be prohibited in the country from Thursday until the polling stations close. Candidates can post unpaid contributions on social networks even during this period.

After winning the first round of the presidential election in March with an unexpectedly large lead over Pellegrini, Korčok continued to hold rallies in Slovak cities and other events. Pellegrini also had a similar program, who did not organize his own meetings before the first round of the presidential elections.

According to a survey by the Focus agency, commissioned by Markíza TV, Pellegrini would be elected president with 50.8 percent of the vote.

The two finalists of the presidential election have already met in a radio and television debate, where they defined each other. The last televised duel awaits them tonight on the main channel of the public RTVS.

A meeting of representatives of the three-member government coalition to support the presidential candidacy of Pellegrini, who is also the chairman of the Voice of Social Democracy party, is also expected today. The Slovak media pointed to the rather lukewarm support of Pellegrini from Prime Minister Robert Fico, in whose Party the Direction of Social Democracy Pellegrini worked for 20 years in the past.
