Plug-in hybrid Mercedes-AMG E 53 has Czech prices. It will easily exceed 3 million

In addition to the classic displacement of the speed limiter, Mercedes also pays extra for the maximum performance of the hybrid system.

The recently presented AMG variant of the latest E class (W214) with the designation E 53 Hybrid 4Matic+ has already gone to the configurator of the Czech Mercedes representative office. In contrast to the “c-class” AMG class, which already uses only a plug-in hybrid four-cylinder, the larger sedan and station wagon of the E-class in electrified form retain at least a six-cylinder after the departure of eight-cylinders. The starting price tag is 2,767,270 CZK, while the station wagon starts at 2,828,980 CZK.

Specifically, for this money you will find a turbocharged three-liter straight six under the hood. The latter, in a plug-in hybrid combination with an electric motor stored in a nine-speed gearbox, will ensure a system output of 585 hp (430 kW). With the optional Race Start function, however, the short-term maximum of the system during acceleration is up to 612 hp (450 kW) and 750 Nm of torque.

With 4Matic+ all-wheel drive, the powerful E-Class accelerates from standstill to 100 km/h in 3.8 seconds and reaches a maximum electronically limited 280 km/h (for an additional charge of CZK 57,475 as part of the AMG Driver package, 250 km/h as standard). The battery with a capacity of 28.6 kWh will allow you to travel up to 100 km in pure electric mode, and charging from 10 to 80% capacity is a matter of 20 minutes using a 60 kW DC fast charger.

In standard equipment, the AMG E 53 Hybrid 4Matic+ rear axle steering system, chassis with steel springs and AMG Ride Control adaptive dampers, in the cabin then electrically adjustable leather sports seats or a sports steering wheel with drive mode selector and nappa leather upholstery. There is also a choice of a total of eight shades of body color at no extra charge.

Among the extras, it is worth mentioning the AMG Dynamic Plus package (CZK 95,288), which mainly includes a brake system with carbon-ceramic discs, a rear differential with an electronically controlled lock, active engine mounting and the aforementioned Race Start function. The multimedia equipment includes three Superscreen dashboard displays (CZK 45,072) or the Burmester 4D audio system (CZK 34,939).

Finally, the Dynamic Plus package is also part of the special launch version Edition 1, which will only be on the market for one year. For an additional 695,750 CZK, the E-class from AMG will be equipped more extensively in terms of design, with a selection of body paints from the extended Manufaktur palette and decorative graphics on the sides. There are also 21-inch multi-spoke wheels with matte black lacquered centers and polished collars, while there are other bodywork details in black lacquer, chrome or carbon. Inside, black leather with yellow contrast stitching is complemented by carbon trim and, of course, edition logos.
