Listen to the interview with iDNES.cz reporters in audio:

D se ct, we were about two kilometers from the front. Obas and bl. We had the opportunity to meet the local chaplain Michajl, to whom Askold, who is a very charismatic man who has a big say there, and thanks to him we got to places we would not normally have reached, to the editor Michal Voska.

Thanks to the chaplain, the manufacturer of the Revolunch FPV (first person view) drone also reached the units on the very border of the three-quarters of the Russian-occupied Donbass. Lesya, a volunteer, was also a great help, without her contact I would not have been able to get dressed in Zporo. During both, the report is dedicated to the queue in all its texts.

Every hunter who hears the sound of a drone on the front line, stand up and be afraid. Don’t know where it comes from. In the field of aviation, I have reached something, and the line is so many kilometers away, but the drone is completely unpredictable, to Voska.

They didn’t encounter corruption on the roads, Ukrainians, on the contrary, according to photographer Petr Topia, were open to anything. Reporter Voska betrays the efforts of the local soldiers to show the reality and not pay attention to those who would paint anything wrong.

Voska has many years of experience entering war zones, namely Afghanistan and Syria, but Topi is not completely familiar with the danger of the front line. Ask yourself how you are used to it.

Michal simply said to me: Nope. That’s the way it is, the hunter didn’t find anything in it, he just has to pay attention to the safety rules and then we’ll be there. There was a problem there too, and the soldiers were allowed to see that we were civilians. Vojk finds himself, whenever he can, to Topi, Czech Press Photo winner for the photo of the damage after the tornado in Moravia in 2022.

According to Michal Voska, the contrast between Kyiv and the rest of the country in compulsory levies is unreal. The Zporosk and Donck region is depopulated. Many people of fighting age enlisted. With patrols, the hunters go regularly, the policeman together with the soldiers check where the hunter is from, his age, so that they know who they can deal with. Even from the west of Ukraine it is possible to fight, but it works differently in Kyiv, as in every metropolis, because you can still meet many young people on the streets, in cafes and restaurants.

What you will learn in the Context podcast:

  • For soldiers, die even from trivial wounds, and how can dropped supplies and collections help?
  • Why dare a photographer in a war under the supervision of soldiers?
  • How do people manage to react to being a wolf?
  • What do the Ukrainians do near the front of the chisel, if the Russian advances towards the west?
  • Will Ukrainians appreciate material aid or financial aid? How error technique?
  • In what situation did the reports fail to show whether the drill was going on?
