The information in this text is a summary of events for Wednesday, May 1. The situation may be different in some places.

In recent weeks, the Ukrainians have been deploying American ATACMS missiles much more frequently than in the fall, when they premiered in the war. At that time, they allegedly received only 20 of them, and after a few attacks on Berdyansk and Luhansk airports, they ran out.

However, it is different now. The Ukrainians received ATACMS missiles from the Americans, this time with a range of around 300 kilometers, secretly sometime in March. They started shooting them in April and are deploying them in a big way.

However, the target is no longer just the airports and bases in Crimea, but, as the video published on Wednesday showed, also the concentration of Russian troops far behind the front. It may be as important as the airport attacks.

The Russians say all the missiles were shot down by their air defenses, which is possible, but we have yet to see the remains of the downed missiles to prove this.

On Thursday, the Schemi portal published the first satellite images of Dzhankoy airport after Tuesday’s attack. Exact losses are hard to tell from them, but it suggests that some missiles may have hit the target.

What we know for sure is that the Ukrainians succeeded in attacking the concentration of Russian troops in the north of the occupied part of the Luhansk region near the village of Mozhňakivka, about 30 kilometers from the Russian border. This place is about 80 kilometers from the front, but realistically the Ukrainians have to shoot from a greater distance.

The video shows a large concentration of Russian troops. 116 soldiers and at least four vehicles can be counted in the picture. It is likely that Russian soldiers here
