The cat survived a week without food or drink. She hid in a return box and wandered hundreds of kilometers

Galena completed the hundreds of kilometers long pilgrimage with a happy ending last month. Apparently, she was saved by a crack in the box, thanks to which she could breathe without problems.

When the cat mysteriously disappeared, the frightened owners launched a large-scale search operation in and around the residence. They put up posters with photos and even started a campaign on social networks just to find the beloved animal.

“Galena is a great emotional support for me. She has helped me overcome many health issues in the last six years,” Carrie Clark said, according to KSL TV. Her anxiety and stress were already unbearable when she suddenly received a message on her cell phone that the cat was alive and well, but in Los Angeles, hundreds of kilometers away.

“At first I didn’t believe it. I thought it was a joke,” said the happy lady of Galena. “My husband and I burst into tears when we realized that she had jumped unnoticed into the large return box we were sending back several pairs of shoes in,” she added.

Galena was discovered by an employee of the delivery company while unpacking the returned goods. She took her to the vet, who scanned the little patient’s chip to make sure who owned it.

The very next day, Mrs. Carrie and her husband boarded a plane to Los Angeles and picked up Galena’s favorite things, from a pink bag to treats to her blanket.

“It was a wonderful reunion. Galena immediately stopped shaking. When I took her in my arms, she completely relaxed,” said the owner of the animal. “Although she was thinner and slightly dehydrated, her blood counts were completely normal and she had no injuries,” she added.

On the way back to Utah, she and her husband promised each other that in the future, she would thoroughly check all the packages she sent. “Galeana loves boxes. They are part of her personality,” Ms. Carrie explained.
