Things are starting to get really bad in Czech stores. More and more extremely objectionable foods are getting here, which can leave you unsightly after consumption. In addition to the State Agricultural and Food Inspection, the State Veterinary Administration is also getting into the action, which has also had quite a few successful notches on its account in recent days, if you can even call it that.

A real glade

One of the most serious is the discovery of mass-sold ham in two retail chains, namely Tesco and Globus. At the same time, these hams contain nothing less than listeria, which are really highly objectionable for human consumption.

Specifically, it was the products Turkey ham with reduced salt content 100 g from the private label Tesco and Turkey breast ham with a pinch of salt from the private label Globus. In both cases, the expiration date is March 31, 2024, so you can still have the product at home.

The manufacturer is the company LE&CO – Ing. Jiří Lenc, s.r.o., which produces a large amount of ham, including under its own brand. But now he seems to have quite a problem. “The regional veterinary administration ordered the manufacturer to suspend the production of the product and its marketing. The manufacturer must also carry out extraordinary sanitation of the technological equipment and submit the result of the examination of the next batch of the product,” stated SVS in its report.

Tough measures

In this case, the Office is proceeding extremely hard and it can be seen that it has much greater powers than SZPI. Entire companies have essentially stopped production to prevent the possible further production of defective ham. At the same time, the manufacturer must prove himself that further production is already in order.

One cannot avoid the feeling that such a procedure should also be followed in other cases when a fault is discovered on the part of the defectiveness of a certain product. Only then will it be possible to ensure that manufacturers and traders are careful.
