Yesterday we wrote about the fact that it seems that the announcement of the sale of HashiCorp, which should be bought by IBM, is about to be announced. Both companies have already confirmed the acquisition, the price was finally set at 6.4 billion dollars. HashiCorp’s capabilities to achieve significant synergies across several of IBM’s strategic growth areas, including Red Hat, data security, IT automation and consulting, says IBM in an announcement.

HashiCorp will continue to create products and services under the original brand and will operate as a division within IBM. By joining IBM, HashiCorp’s products can be made available to a much wider range of users, allowing us to serve many more users and customers. For our customers and partners, this combination will allow us to go further than as separate companies, says HashiCorp founder Armon Dadgar.

HashiCorp is a software company based in San Francisco, California. It provides tools and products for configuring, securing and operating cloud infrastructure. The most famous products include Terraform, Vagrant, Packer and Vault.
