In the Czech Republic, a major inspection is underway. Anyone who does not let an official home will be fined 50,000 crowns

The state can only function if the citizens follow all the rules that are given by the laws. If everyone did what they wanted, things would go very badly very quickly. That is why various control and sanctioning procedures are devised to enforce violations of the rules. This should be kept in mind as the checks are actually ongoing.

An apology won’t help

Very often mistakes are made, especially during the construction or reconstruction of a house. People don’t really like the fact that they have to wait a long time for a building permit to be issued. Alternatively, they may not even receive it compared to their expectations, as their project does not meet all requirements.

“The fact that you have already applied for permission, but it takes a long time for the building authority, cannot be an excuse either.” states the expert server Domek polopatá. You also have to be very careful about how you implement the construction or reconstruction. If you consider a building permit as a blank check, it’s a mistake. You have to stick to the project, otherwise you face considerable penalties.

“It is an offense to carry out a building which, although permitted, is carried out in violation of the permit — for example, when you build a family house with larger dimensions or more floors,” informs the server.

Checks are in progress

In addition, the authorities have the right to require a so-called inspection. You might think that you will deal with everything by simply not letting them into the building, so they won’t be able to find out what you did differently or wrongly. But that would be wrong thinking.

“For unexcused non-participation in an inspection to which the building authority has invited them, if this makes the inspection more difficult, they may be fined up to CZK 50,000 according to Section 173 of the Construction Act.” reports the Stavební klub server.

According to available information, construction authorities are not too embarrassed to issue similar fines. And that’s only good. As we mentioned above, many feel that they can do whatever they want if they have the money to do so. However, this is far from the only assumption.
