How is the windshield and rear window on the new Skoda Kodiaq assembled on the production line? Check it out in the latest installment of Škoda’s Production Minutes series.

Mladoboleslavská Škodovka regularly lets us see the production line in Kvasiny. In the new series Minutes from production, the production process of the new Škoda Kodiaq is presented to us step by step. The second generation of the brand’s flagship SUV was officially revealed at the beginning of last October, it recently got into our hands for the first time and we will soon meet it on Czech and foreign roads.

The Škoda series Minutes from Production showed us the welding and painting of the bodywork as well as the assembly of the dashboard, which is one of the first parts to be assembled into the completed color skeleton of the car. And now the automaker is moving on to the next important stage of Kodiaq production – the assembly of the front and rear windows.

This is done on the production line quite early in the entire production process because, as with the dashboard or headliner, it would be unnecessarily difficult in the later steps. And the whole process is surprisingly fast. Experienced workers are literally done once or twice, while the most important requirement is to observe the width of the joint. A simple calibration tool helps them to do this.

It is even faster to install the rear window on the fifth door, because this part is a little smaller and lighter. You can see what it looks like in a new short video directly from the production line. It’s faster than you might expect.
