Only last month, the Oscar film awards for the past year were awarded, and the world’s media are already guessing who will have a chance next time. While the magazine Variety.com printed an extensive list of several dozen potential candidates in all categories, the British BBC decided to pick the ten biggest overall favorites for the Oscars 2025.

Director: Yorgos Lanthimos, Czech premiere on September 12
Director Yorgos Lanthimos recently released The Poor Man, which was subsequently nominated for Oscars for screenplay, direction and best film, and finally won a statuette for Emma Stone, the lead actress. The 50-year-old native of Greece also collaborated with her on a novel called Milé laskavosti, which tells the story of three characters.
