The closure of Pavelkova Street in Olomouc begins immediately after the Easter holidays. The city will have the road repaired in the section from Lipenská to the bridge over Bystřice. Only city public transport connections or traffic attendants will be able to pass through here.
Construction work will close Pavelkova for six weeks from Tuesday, April 2. Drivers will not pass the place. Pedestrians can pass through the section without restrictions. The builders will first remove the old bituminous layers to replace them with new ones, replace concrete curbs, street drains and add paving. The repaired section is approximately 640 meters long.
“The asphalt mixture is planned for the weekend of May 4-5. At that time, the closure will also apply to public transport. Necessary service will be allowed to pass from Hodolanská street to Farského street and then to K Mrázirnám street. It will be possible to exit via Purkyňová street to Hodolanská. In case of unsuitable weather conditions for laying, the laying date would be postponed until the weekend of May 11-12.” explained Marek Černý, head of the transport department.
Repairs should cost 11 million crowns. “Citizens who will be affected by the construction work, we ask for patience and compliance with temporary traffic signs. It is primarily for the purpose of ensuring their own safety. However, this will also enable the successful progress and subsequent completion of the construction works,” encourages the head of the transport department Černý.
