ZLÍN REGION: Dozens of police officers in the field.

During the extended Easter weekend, a nationwide traffic safety event – Easter – Police of the Czech Republic will take place in the territory of the Zlín Region.
This will focus, among other things, on compliance with the set speed, the use of seat belts, the technical condition of vehicles and, last but not least, on the detection of people driving under the influence of alcohol or other addictive substances. The results of the event will be published after its end, i.e. on Tuesday, April 2, 2024.
Already on Wednesday, a traffic safety event focused on vehicle speed took place in the Zlín region. Over the course of a few hours in the afternoon, police patrols checked more than a hundred vehicles and found 67 traffic violations. The vast majority, namely 61 offences, consisted of exceeding the maximum permitted speed.
The police in Rožnov pod Radhoštěm measured the highest speed in the village for a vehicle driving along Ostravská Street at a speed of 79 km/h.
The police measured the highest speed outside the village on the twentieth kilometer of the D55 highway in the direction of Otrokovice. One of the measured vehicles was traveling at a speed of 173 km/h.
