It was fun in Prague 1. High school and university students started their month of celebration here. The student Majáles started for them. On that occasion, they gathered in front of the Prague 1 town hall. At the corner of Vodičkova and Jungmannova streets, they started building Májka. The construction traditionally starts the period of student merriment.
“This is where the celebration of student life actually begins. A student mayka will be built, where students participate in it, get to know each other. Then it’s so nice and it decorates the place here in front of the Prague 1 Town Hall. In essence, Majáles as such was created in such a way that it is a celebration of student life and we are trying to commemorate this here,” says Šimon Vlásenko, coordinator of student activities from the Prague Majáles .
The city district of Prague 1 allowed the students to meet on the square in front of the town hall already last year. There seems to be a tradition here. The mayor of the municipal district, Terezie Radoměřská, came to wish and greet the students.
This, in particular, is the icing on the cake, when right in front of our town hall we provide a space for individual clubs and groups of adepts to meet here and start the competition for King Majáles, says the mayor of Prague 1, Terezie Radoměřská (TOP 09). .
“And what would you wish for students today,” asks the editor. “Foresight, a firm belief in the future and courage,” answers the mayor.
“I would wish them one thing,” says Prague 1 Deputy Mayor David Bodeček (BEZPP). “Until one day in the future they will think that they have fallen to the bottom, so that they do not give up and think about not falling into the abyss. I wish them good luck and may they always have a smile on their face.
Like every year, the month of student joy culminates with a big party at the airport in Prague’s Letňany, where students come to enjoy the summit under the open sky. This year, a packed program full of musical stars is waiting for them again.
