“Me and the killer? This is complete nonsense,” said Martin Krutý (43), who is accused of brutal murder, at the Regional Court in Pilsen on Monday. He first smashed the head of his victim, whom he knew well, near the University Hospital in Pilsen, and then stabbed her. In court, this recidivist and drug addict repeatedly rejected the indictment and did not spare profanity at the investigator of the case.

According to the indictment, Krutý murdered Marian G. (47) in the early evening of September 17, 2022, in a bushy and wooded area near the University Hospital in Bory. “For unknown reasons, he attacked the victim and killed him by repeatedly hitting him on the head with a blunt object and repeatedly stabbing him, probably with a knife, in the back of the chest,” described prosecutor Jiří Richtr. According to him, Kruty inflicted extensive injuries on his acquaintance in the brain area, in the facial area of the head and in the area of the back of the chest, which involved four stab wounds. The immediate cause of the victim’s death was traumatic shock as part of polytrauma associated with extensive internal bleeding.

Krutý reacted quite impulsively to the accusation. “I don’t even feel guilty by mistake. It’s nonsense,” he declared and called the investigator an imbecile, which was the mildest word he used in his address, until the president of the senate, judge Helena Przybylová, had to admonish him.

The defendant admitted to the court that he is a meth user and occasionally drinks alcohol, and that he has debts of around three quarters of a million crowns, mainly due to theft, and that he has spent the last 20 years in hostels. It was at one of them that he met Slovak Marian G. According to him, they were friends. “We went out together, we drank. He was Slovak, he still drank vodka and he didn’t care if he went to work in the morning, I wasn’t like that,” claimed Krutý, adding that even on the fateful day when the murder was supposed to take place, they went out together. According to him, they broke up at the edge of the forest near the hospital, because Marián had a meeting there and he sent him to get vodka, saying that they would meet in an hour at the trolleybus stop. “But he didn’t come there. I went to the forest, I called Marian, but when he didn’t answer, I collected some vajgls and returned to the dormitory,” claimed Krutý.

He added that he had no reason to hurt the stranger. He denied that he was jealous of him because of the drug addict Pavlína, whom they found on the street and dragged her to a hostel, where she spent a few days with them. “She was of the same ethnicity as Marian, but he was mixed, she wouldn’t have anything to do with him,” Krutý explained why he wasn’t jealous. But he admitted that after the disappearance of Mariano, he started using his mobile phone, even giving it to a pawn shop for a few days. “They said he was dead on TV and I heard it from junkies,” he concluded.

The trial will continue with the questioning of witnesses and other evidence. For murder, the defendant faces 10 to 18 years in prison, the public prosecutor proposed a prison sentence of 13 years with inclusion in a prison with increased security.
