On the last Sunday of April, we said goodbye to this year’s Czech Run Blue charity event, which presented a new concept of educational activity on the occasion of World Autism Awareness Day in the Czech Republic. We started in a strong wind on 2.4. in Prague on Letná in blue, symbolizing communication, one of the fundamental barriers to mutual understanding between people on the autism spectrum and the environment. The finish was then held in Zlín at náměstí Míru on April 28, on a sun-drenched Sunday with smiles on the runners’ faces.

Twice we ran and twice we launched two great books which, thanks to ATYP MAGAZINE, the non-profit organization Za sklem os and the City Hall of Prague, could be published in the Czech language. The launch of the Czech edition of the book by British educator Pete Wharmby on the autism spectrum ATYPICKÝ on the topic “How the world is not made for autistic people and what we could all do about it” took place in Prague on Letná. author Maks Brovčenko on the autism spectrum – Planet «A», supplemented by Maks’s wonderful paintings. He is called the “Ukrainian Picasso”.

“Our goal is for this beautiful and inspiring book to reach not only the public, but also schools, where there are many Ukrainian children, and help them learn Czech by reading the works of their peers and compatriots. At the same time, education about people with autism will reach schools in a non-violent way. People on the autism spectrum worked on the book,” says the publisher and editor-in-chief of ATYP magazine, Dagmar Edith Holá.

Both charity events included an accompanying musical program, a number of cultural performances and interest-based activities for children.

“Thank you very much to all the runners and partners for their participation and help. I am extremely happy about how many good and empathetic people there are in our small country. I am really proud”, says the chairperson of Za sklem os, Marta Pečeňová.

The first year of ČESKO BĖŽI MODŘRE turned out fantastically. A total of 1,324 runners took part, of which 314 were virtual. And an amount of less than half a million crowns was collected, which will be used to help people with autism spectrum disorders and their families through the organization Za sklem os

“But we’re not done, the charity event continues for up to a year! Although no longer in the blue colors of April, but multi-colored under the name FENIX RUN, which is part of every Night Run and Avon run, Mizuno Neon Run, Škoda fit half-marathon, Zombie Night Run and Christmas Run. Those who cannot attend can sign up virtually and support the cause in the meantime. Here, we not only help people on the autism spectrum, but also support home care for the elderly, give a second chance to people who didn’t have a particularly happy past, help children after injuries, oncological patients, disabled children, delayed children, and also support a clinical study for the development of a drug for children with congenital genetic defect” Exact information about the FENIX RUN can be found at https://night-run.cz/fenixrun.html, says Halina Trsková, the initiator of the CZECH RUNNING BLUE and FENIX RUN runs.

The patronage of the event was taken over by the Prague City Hall in Prague, the Zlín Region and the Zlín Town Hall in Zlín. The event is supported by Anička Slováčková, Josef Vágner, David Uličník and many other important personalities.
