Last year, for the whole year, the state of health recorded 253 new cases, less than in the previous two years. In the last two years, foreigners made up more than half of the population.

In the first quarter, 32 HIV-positive people from Ukraine with refugee status arrived in Eska. From the middle of 2023, the number of newly registered HIV-positive refugee women will remain roughly the same at around ten percent, the reference laboratory said in a comment on the public data. As of March 2022, 759 HIV-positive refugee women from Ukraine, 270 men and 489 women, were drinking.

According to the refugee women who knew about their HIV positivity, it has decreased over the years, NRL added. Last year there were 90 percent, 66 percent last year and 53 percent in the first quarter of this year.

Cases of HIV infection and AIDS have been monitored in Czechia since 1985. Since then, the virus has been diagnosed in 4,693 people, 890 have developed AIDS and 398 people have succumbed to it. This year, in the first quarter, 85 percent of new cases are men, and 60 percent of those infected were transmitted through sexual intercourse between men. There were seven new cases of developing AIDS in the first months of the year.

The HIV virus attacks lymphocytes, which are essential for immunity. After infection, their number drops sharply for about four weeks, then the decline stops and the health of the infected person improves.

Gradually, however, this type of flea blood cells will decrease again and after eight years, the AIDS disease will break out. Without a skull, the sick will die within a few years. Nowadays, modern drugs can practically stop the progress of the disease. Thanks to them, they can have a good life, including sex, without the risk of infecting their partner.
