Young and old visitors will enjoy a lot of experiences on Wednesday, May 8, when the Transport Company of the City of Olomouc (DPMO) organizes an Open Doors Day. The event will take place on the occasion of the 125th anniversary of the start of regular tram service in the city.

The open day at the DPMO will take place from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Fans of historic and modern means of transport will definitely find something to their liking.
They can also look forward to a tour of the carriage house in Koželužská street and the new parking hall in Jeremenková street. Tramcars of the T3 type, Škoda INEKON Astra, INEKON TRIO, Vario, EVO, buses, an electric bus and the historic tram number 16 will also be on display.

The interested party will be transported free of charge on the route from the Fibichova stop to the U Svatého Mořice stop by the historic set of trams registration number 223 and 99.

“We will offer visitors free rides on the historic Škoda 706 RTO bus, which we will have on loan from the Ostrava transport company. It will run from the Sokolská stop to Fibichova. From 10 a.m. to 12 p.m., an accompanying program of the Czech Red Cross and the Police of the Czech Republic is prepared. There will also be a bouncy castle, refreshments and competitions for children,” invited Anna Sýkorová, spokeswoman for the DPMO, as the organizer.

Historic Czechoslovak-made Zbrojovka Brno and Tatra cars from 1933 to 1936 and a historic fire truck from 1929 SDH Olomouc – Chválkovice will also be on display at Wednesday’s Open Day. Souvenirs of the Olomouc transport company will be on sale.
The organizers of the Open Door Day point out that it will not be possible to transport baby carriages and wheelchairs in the historic cars due to space reasons.
