There is a threat of strong storms, since the afternoon, the meteorologists warned

“Thunderstorms will begin to form in the afternoon, first in southwestern Bohemia, and later also in the area of the Bohemian-Moravian Highlands. It will not arrive in the east of Moravia and Silesia until the evening,” meteorologists stated. They should be the strongest in the Bohemian-Moravian Highlands. More thunderstorms may arrive later this afternoon and evening from Bavaria.

During thunderstorms, around 30 millimeters of rain can fall in a short period of time. Smaller hail up to two centimeters in diameter may also appear. Wind gusts can reach speeds of around 70 kilometers per hour.

“In the total until tomorrow morning, in combination with overnight rain, even over 50 millimeters of precipitation is not ruled out,” the ČHMÚ pointed out, adding that significant fluctuations in the levels of smaller streams can also be expected, especially in those that drain the Bohemian-Moravian Highlands, the Beskydy Mountains and Jeseníky mountains.

The warning is valid from 2 p.m. until midnight. It applies to parts of the Central Bohemian, Pilsen and Hradec Králové regions as well as the Vysočina, Pardubice, South Bohemian, Olomouc, Moravian-Silesian, South Moravian and Zlín regions.

“During the night on Tuesday, the precipitation will turn into persistent, sometimes heavier rain. It will begin to weaken on Tuesday in the morning or early morning hours,” meteorologists said.
