Otherwise, however, the parliamentary speeches turned largely to criticism of Fial’s government. And also to the still simmering disputes over pension reform. “This group does not fulfill either the pre-election program or the post-election program, they simply do not fulfill anything at all,” claimed Babiš.

Babiš recalled that in November 2022, Prime Minister and ODS Chairman Fiala promised that his government would not increase the retirement age, to then include the possibility of moving this limit beyond the age of 65 in the draft of its pension reform. He also pointed out that the government reduced the valuation of pensions last year. “Obviously this government took what they could from the pensioners,” Babiš means.

According to Babiš, the amount of pensions could have been ensured by the preservation of revenues from the canceled electronic records of sales. However, according to the cabinet, the EET system was unprofitable. “This government is truly the worst, most lying and totally incompetent. We haven’t had this here since the revolution, it’s really unbelievable hell. We returned to the nineties. The gray economy thrives here,” Babiš complained.

However, he returned even after refusing another meeting with representatives of the coalition of five in the Castle with the participation of President Petr Pavle.

“The embarrassing campaign that was created on the basis that we were naive and that we started negotiating with Mr. Jurečka, Ms. Schillerová met with him several times, but he never delivered anything. And then, because we’re decent, we accepted the president’s invitation, and basically they turned us into total moronsthat we have nothing, no program,” thundered Babiš in the House of Representatives. “This is about the government making fools and morons out of the citizens and lying. What is this reform? This is no reform,” Babiš continued and repeated his reservations about the correspondence election.

“Andrej Babiš explained to us in the House of Representatives that the correspondence election does not guarantee a free election. First of all, the postal election does not guarantee him votes, because he knows how the election from abroad turns out for the ANO movement. I’ve been promoting the correspondence election since 2015. And I’m glad that we’re close,” countered Marek Ženíšek (TOP 09), Topka’s new candidate for Minister of Science, Research and Innovation.
