As part of the 87th edition of the World Cup, Prague’s O2 Arena will host the matches of Group A, which, in addition to the Czech team, also features Finland, Canada, Switzerland, Denmark, Norway, Austria and Great Britain.
Group B will be played in the Ostravar Arena, consisting of teams from the USA, Sweden, Germany, Slovakia, Latvia, France, Kazakhstan and Poland.
When and where to buy tickets for the 2024 World Cup in Hockey
From January 16, 2024, the sale of tickets for individual matches was launched, including matches of the Czech national team. Currently, the vast majority of standard tickets for all matches are sold out. You can only get units of pieces for less attractive duels in basic groups.
The cheapest tickets for the matches of the domestic national team started at 1,990 crowns, and for the matches of the Czech Republic with Finland, Switzerland and Canada, 2,390 CZK. Prices ended at 2,890 and 3,290 CZK, respectively. The lowest price for a ticket for matches of other countries outside the Czech Republic started at 190 CZK.
Fans paid 2,390 to 3,490 CZK for the quarter-finals in Prague and Ostrava. The tournament will culminate only in Prague. It will be possible to watch the semi-final matches in the O2 Arena for 4,490 to 5,990 CZK. The match for bronze costs 2490 to 3990 CZK, the final battle for gold costs 7190, 7990 or 8990 CZK.
Another possibility to get to some matches is to buy the most expensive VIP tickets, which went on sale on Tuesday, December 5. These tickets include catering and separate entrance to the hall. Their price starts at 4390 CZK. Fans will spend the most on VIP tickets for the final match, approximately 15,000 crowns.
Tickets for the regular season and VIP tickets for the matches in Ostrava are on sale in the Ticketportal network, and for the play-offs and VIP tickets in Prague in the Ticketmaster network.
Dates of advance sales and ticket sales
There were several opportunities to get tickets for the 2024 World Cup. From July 20, a competition process was prepared, during which the lucky winners won their first tickets. After this current part, it was the turn of the free sale of packages, which was launched from October 10, 2023 on the official sales portal of the event.
This form of pre-sale is new for the Czech Republic, which was inspired by the procedure for selling tickets for the 2023 Ice Hockey World Cup or the 2024 Olympic Games in Paris. Thanks to this, fans can compete for the preferential right to purchase approximately 20% of the total number of tickets.
As part of the first phase, registration for the ticket competition took place on the official website from Thursday, July 20. This is how hockey enthusiasts could proceed until September 15. During this period, registered bidders were also invited to select their preferred three teams and respective matchdays as part of the second phase. The third phase occurred between September 15 and 30. At this time, the winners were drawn and contacted using the e-mail provided during registration. In the fourth phase, the lucky winners had a few days to buy the allocated tickets.
After the competition part, it was the turn of the already mentioned public sale, within which it was possible to first buy daily ticket packages, individual match tickets were released for sale after 16 January 2024.
