Czech leather processor Karo Leather sold more than a million square meters of leather products last year. This is a year-on-year growth of more than 50 percent, and he expects an increase in the coming years as well. “This year, the volume of sold production should grow by another 17 percent to 1.180 million meters, and in 2025 we aim for 1.315 million square meters of processed and sold leather,” said financial director Jakub Hemerka in a press release.
Last year’s sales increased the company’s revenue by 66 percent year-on-year from 191 to 317 million crowns. The company aims to double sales by 2028. He wants to achieve this mainly by expanding the assortment with a higher margin.
Karo is produced at the factory in Boršov near Jihlava. In 2023, it completed the construction of a new production plant in Brtnice. “The Brtnice project brings with it a significant expansion of production competences, which expands the product portfolio and the added value of production, which will be noticeably reflected in the management of the Karo group,” informs Hemerka. The company also wants to expand its portfolio to include footwear production.
“Since our entry on the stock exchange in 2019, we have managed to build a unique production and sales background, which we can finally begin to fully exploit after more than four years,” adds the financial director. By 2026, the company, whose shares are now traded on the Start market of the Prague Stock Exchange, plans to move to the main market.
Karo Leather has been operating on the market since the 1990s. The company opened its own production facility in 2015, and mainly supplies the furniture industry with leather products.
