Hope for the Council. He can still coach Dukla

--

Following Rad’s appeal, the Appeals Committee requested a written justification from the Disciplinary Committee. It’s not done yet. Thus, the Dukla coach can lead the team in normal mode until a final decision is made.

The next meeting of the appeals commission will take place on Thursday, but Rad’s misdemeanor will not be addressed during it.

“We will not deal with Mr. Rada for the reason that there is no written copy of the first-instance authority yet. I think the Disciplinary Committee will produce a written decision next week after Easter. Then we always give each participant at least 14 days to file a written appeal with arguments. Then we will order a hearing on the matter. We meet once every three Sundays,” Malý explained.

It does not assume that the members of the appeals committee will decide to convene an extraordinary meeting. “We will discuss with colleagues whether to decide on it earlier. Frankly speaking, I see no reason why the case of Mr. Rada should be different from other cases of, for example, Premier League players, clubs or coaches. I think we will proceed exactly the same as in other cases. Except for complete exceptions, we have never held extraordinary meetings,” said Malý.

Rada was guilty in the duel of the opening spring round against Brno, which ended in a 3:3 draw. He called visiting coach Tomáš Polách a “desperate gypsy”. He subsequently apologized and regretted his words, but even that did not save him. In addition to the eight-month sentence, he was fined 80,000 crowns.

The record length of the distance was shocking for many. “Eight months? Seriously? The council stepped aside, but it seems to me as if you stole a roll and sentenced you to life,” said an unnamed elite football official to Sport.cz.

Rad’s employer made a similar statement. “Dukla Praha generally condemns any speech that could be attributed a racist subtext. However, the club considers the imposed punishment to be unprecedented and disproportionate,” reads the website of the leading team of the second league.

For the former coach of the national team and both Prague S, this is far from the first flirtation with the disciplinary committee. Most recently, in October, Rada received a three-game ban and a fine of 30,000 crowns for threatening assistant referee Tomáš Mokrusch during a match in Chrudim.
