The Czech football team will complete a preparatory camp before the start of UEFA EURO 2024 in Schladming and will also play a preparatory match against Malta not far from there. The previously announced home game against North Macedonia will provide the warm-up before the championship.
The national team will travel to Austria on Sunday 2 June and spend just under eight days there before moving to Czech. Meanwhile, on Friday, June 7, he will play in Grödigsouth of Salzburg, friendly match against Malta.
“Individual teams have a clear idea of their own before the start of the European Championship preparations and their priorities. More more than ever, the preferences of the coaches, the place of the match, the decision whether you want to play against a participant in the championship, the date… From the beginning, we had instructions from the coaches that the place of the match is a priority for them, and this requirement with finally managed to fulfill” said FAČR chairman Petr Fousek.
“I wish our team was to play a match not far from where we will be camping so that we have as much time as possible to prepare before the Euros. That’s why we rejected several leading European teams, who in turn clearly insisted on playing at home,“ he added technical director of FAČR Erich Brabec.
“We have a given preparation plan that fits into a match on a given date not far from where we will be to the championship to prepare. In addition Malta has recently scored good results, when she managed to draw with Slovenia during the last national team meetingbeat the improving last year Luxembourg and even before that drew with Greece and defeated Israel“ said national team coach Ivan Hašek.
The Czech national team played against Malta sixteen matches, of which she won thirteen times and drew three times. The last time she played against this opponent was in 2016, when it was also a preparation before the European championship.
Coach Ivan Hašek’s wards will prepare for the championship in Schladming. From hotel Falkensteiner they will go to the nearby excellently prepared football field.
“We were there with trainers look and we will have ideal conditions for preparation there,” he emphasized Erich Brabec.
After the warm-up against North Macedonia on June 10 will give the players a short break before the national team moves to Germany on June 13. There they will enter the European Championship five days later against Portugal. In the basic group, the national team will also face Georgia (June 22) and Turkey (June 26).
