One hundred points, certain progress to the playoffs. Vancouver became the first Canadian club to extend the season, and the spectators are really looking forward to it. Especially since they will see the playoffs after almost ten years!

Tickets for the home games of the first round went on sale on Monday and the prices are shocking. The cheapest peels were available for $250, but they quickly disappeared. They’re already at least $400 everywhere else; standard tickets are now only for more expensive places, starting at 700 dollars.

Prices are currently so high that even the pros expect some correction. “I think it will adjust over time,” predicts Kingsley Bailey, who sells tickets through his company Vancouver Ticket, looking ahead to the next few weeks.

The Canucks last peeked into the playoffs in 2020, when they played without spectators during the pandemic. Indeed, the last classic home games of the cup part in western Canada date back to 2015, when Vancouver lost the first round to Calgary.

Back then, the tickets weren’t so high because the Canucks weren’t entering the playoffs with such ambitions. Prices were between $80 and $300 nine years ago. This year, the interest is much greater due to the improved performances, but fans are also afraid of the rising prices and are starting to tactic.

“Often they only take one game instead of two,” Bailey noted.

This was confirmed, for example, by fan Kevin Danchella, who bought a ticket for just one game at the Bailey Center. “I’ll watch the rest on TV,” he stated pragmatically.

The dates and times of the matches for the first round are of course still unknown, as is the opponent.
