Norman Borlaug: The father of the green revolution that fed the world and today is the main supporter of the Green Deal

The world would be a far less lively place if the American agronomist Norman Borlaug had not earned the reputation of agricultural production in developing countries. It was the start of the so-called green revolution, which really had nothing in common with the Green Deal of the day. On the contrary. From 40. even in the 80s of the last century, the environment, but the introduction of warbler, kukuice, and the use of artificial fertilizers, pesticides, agricultural techniques and irrigation, were suddenly introduced. Thanks to this, Borlaug and his collaborators helped eliminate hunger and improve the lives of a hundred million people from Mexico and the Philippines.

It started in Mexico first. In 1940, this country was visited by the American Vice President and then Minister of Agriculture, Henry Wallace. He couldn’t understand why peasants there had to spend fifty times more than one sack of kukui on the farm in Mississippi. He advocated for the Rockefeller Foundation to establish a tickling station for the import of grain there. Norman Borlaug became its driving force over the course of several years.

The family of this agronomist had Norwegian roots, and Borlaug worked on the family farm from the age of seven to nineteen. Thanks to the support of the bag, he finally took off the middle and then the top wheel. The use of high-yielding crops not only eliminated famines, but also helped to preserve the environment.

However, the rush was phenomenal. Contrary to current agronomic principles, he bred a new variety of dwarf warbler with a resistant and flexible stem under the grain. Thanks to the nitrogen fertilizers, the crops have not yet been sown. To whom it was suitable for areas with a sum climate in the subtropics and atropies. He put it together later, when he saw two mushrooms tickling it in Japan.

By the 1960s, 95 percent of the warbler was bred in Mexico from the strain developed by Borlaug. The total harvest was estkrt not before the start of the project twenty years ago, until it became not only fully self-sufficient in the production of this crop, but also began to develop it on a large scale.
