As every year, police officers from the public order, traffic service and highway departments monitored roads and highways in the region and supervised road traffic safety this Easter.

From the point of view of the police, this year’s Easter on the roads was in Central Bohemia region comparable to last year’s. Even this year, the festive days were not without accidents. Police officers went to 132 incidents, this year also one accident ended tragically.

During the accident in Rabyna on Benešovska a motorcyclist died on Saturday. “The accident was reported to 112 shortly before half past five. The driver of the motorcycle went down the barriers in the woods near the village for unknown reasons A rabbi on road 1027. The cause of the tragic accident is under investigation,” the spokeswoman informed Police of the Czech Republic Vlasta Suchánková of the Central Bohemian Region.

Over 3,700 vehicles passed police checks on Central Bohemian roads during the Easter holidays, with 16% of drivers (603) committing traffic offences. The most frequent offense was speeding, which over 190 drivers did not comply with (100 drivers violated the speed limit outside the municipality, 87 in the municipality). One hundred and sixty drivers were sanctioned for the poor technical condition of their car, four dozen drivers did not fasten their seat belts before driving.

Motorists paid over 610,000 crowns in order proceedings for the offenses caused.
