“A unit from the village of Hoštejn in the Olomouc region was also called to help. The flames destroyed young newly planted trees on an area of 50 by 100 meters. The mature forest was saved from the fire. The damage was not quantified on the spot,” said Miroslav Polák, representative spokesman for the fire department.

After a quiet night on Saturday morning, firefighters from Pardubice and Sezemic went to the chimney fire. Fortunately, it did not spread, so there was no property damage.

Professional and volunteer firefighters from Litomyšl rushed to the threatening-looking accident. “Before six thirty between the villages of Sedliště and Bohuňovice, there was a collision between two passenger vehicles. One vehicle ended up on its side in a ditch. The rescue service took one injured person to the hospital and other people remained on the spot after the examination,” added Polák. The cause of the accident is being investigated by the police.

Firefighters have an unusual intervention in Pardubice. Here, at half-past six, they were coming out to the inclined pole of the catenary line. “The leaking water crushed it and there was a risk of it falling onto the road,” noted Polák. Representatives of the transport company and water supply and sewerage also arrived on the scene. A crane had to be called in to stabilize the column.
