Easter is around the corner, and for the Czech Republic there is a typical mazanec or lamb. A popular dessert that is fluffy and sprinkled with sugar or covered in chocolate. The lamb can also be made from cottage cheese, marble or sponge dough.

Every country has different traditions for Easter. But what they all have in common are sweet desserts. TimeOut magazine came up with the ten most delicious Easter desserts in the world. We bring you the first five that are worth it.

Ricotta cake

A piece of light ricotta cake is a staple of Easter in Sicily. Its filling is flavored with lemon zest, as with most cottage cheese desserts. Some also add dried fruit to the cake.

Chocolate eggs

It’s such a global thing. Of course, you can buy chocolate eggs in the store, which Easter sweets are full of now. If that’s not enough for you and you want to improve them a bit, you can decorate them according to the pattern of the chocolate masters. Some fill them with cream, fruit or candies and decorate the top with cocoa pearls.

Torrijas

A Spanish delicacy similar to French toast. Bread slices are soaked in milk with cinnamon and lemon zest. It is then coated in egg and fried in a pan. The Spanish serve them still caramelized or drizzled with honey.
