From the night to Saturday, the Security Service of Ukraine attacked several areas of the Russian interior with its drones in cooperation with the army, the Unian agency reported. These included the Kushchevskaya military airport and two refineries in Krasnodarsk. The affected refineries are supposed to be Ilskyj and Slavyansk.

“Saturday night was explosive for the Kushchevskaya military airfield, as well as for the Ilskyj and Slavyansk refineries in the Krasnodar region of Russia. “The cotton mill” (Ukraine’s term for the explosion) erupted thanks to SBU drones,” said a source cited by Unian. According to available information, SBU drones also hit key technological equipment of both plants.

Footage taken from around the affected areas quickly circulated on social networks. A video taken from a nearby residential area appeared on the X network. A glowing ball illuminates the night sky and its luminosity quickly gains strength, later the author of the video zooms in on the camera and the explosion is noticeably visible.

In recent days, Ukraine has been using SBU drones extensively for attacks on Russian territory, especially on key objects such as refineries. Drones last hit two refineries of the largest Russian oil company Rosneft on April 24. SBU drones have already hit eight regions of Russia. After the attacks, some areas had problems with electricity and water supply.

In response to the increased intensity of attacks on refineries, Russian oil companies reduced their production in April. However, this step surprisingly did not affect deliveries to the Russian market, on the contrary, they should have increased. Production of high-octane gasoline in the period from April 1 to 23 decreased by 0.8 percent year-on-year to 2.57 million tons. Since the beginning of the year, it shows a decrease of 0.6 percent to 13.08 million tons. During the same period, diesel production decreased by 2.8 percent year-on-year to 5.06 million. Since the beginning of the year, it shows a decrease of 1.5 percent to 25.96 million tons.
