During the retrial, the jury played the shocking footage taken by the fitness center’s security camera twelve days before the boy’s death. The video shows the child constantly falling from the belt from exhaustion, while the father repeatedly picks him up and puts him back.
In some moments, the boy almost crawled to the device to comply with his father’s wishes and re-enter the belt. But his legs were not enough for the speed of the device. According to the Daily Mail server, the camera also captured the moment when the man hits the boy in the back of the head to force him to continue training. According to some information from social networks, he also bit him on the head while running.
A few days after the documented visit to the fitness center, the boy’s mother noticed that the son had certain injuries. The next day, she took the boy to the hospital after he awoke from intermittent sleep, slurring his speech, feeling nauseous and short of breath.

Doctors immediately took him for a CT scan, during which the boy suffered a seizure and fell unconscious. The paramedics then started to revive the child, but despite all their efforts, they were not successful.
A subsequent autopsy found the boy died as a result of “blunt force trauma to the torso, contusion of the heart and liver with inflammation and sepsis.” Police arrested the father and charged him with child neglect. She later reclassified the act as murder.
In court, the boy’s mother was the first to testify as a witness. She sobbed and wiped away tears as she watched the terrifying security camera footage.
Already after the child’s death, she created a private Facebook page called Justice for Corey (child’s name) to raise awareness of his case.
