For sale are, among other things, office buildings in attractive locations, the spa and recreation complex Imperial Park Hotel & Spa in the settlement of Pervomorskoye near the village of Rogozino, and non-residential premises on the first floor of several townhouses in the center. A parking lot with 96 spaces near the company headquarters in Moscow is also for sale.

Gazprom justified the decision “in view of the completion of the transfer of the companies of the Gazprom group to St. Petersburg.” According to the Polish newspaper, however, the company under the control of the Russian state rather needs money, because it lost almost all of its most profitable market in the European Union.

First net annual loss since 1999

Last year, Gazprom reported its first net annual loss since 1999, when a large-scale financial crisis broke out in Russia. The group, which also includes oil and energy companies, a media holding and an airline, posted a net loss of 629 billion rubles (158 billion CZK) last year, compared to a net profit of 1.2 trillion rubles a year earlier.

The company’s shares have lost more than ten percent since the beginning of the year. Shareholders are unsure whether the business will pay a dividend.

The largest shareholder of Gazprom is the Russian government. Russia’s budget has been dominated in the last three years by rising military spending in connection with the war in Ukraine, which Russia launched in February 2022, and in connection with sanctions imposed against Russia by Western countries.

They expected a big profit, but Gazprom ended up with a loss of 160 billion crowns
