Land Rover is tempting the ultimate Defender OCTA, it will be as durable and luxurious as a diamond

--

The very name OCTA, which is derived from the octahedron of a diamond, refers to the premium character of the new flagship of the Defender brand. Diamond is the hardest natural material on Earth, and thanks to its rarity and high value, it is perceived as a symbol of luxury.

A twin-turbocharged V8 engine will be hidden under the hood of the most powerful Land Rover Defender. Defender OCTA will also offer the sophisticated 6D Dynamics chassis for the first time.

The diamond symbol will also be reflected in the marking of the new model. It will appear on a number of interior and exterior features, including a shiny black diamond at the center of the sandblasted titanium discs on each Signature Graphic panel. After all, titanium was also chosen for its robustness and durability.

However, the most interesting thing about the new model from a driving point of view will be its powertrain and chassis. While the Defender V8 is powered by a supercharged V8 engine, the Defender OCTA gets a mild-hybrid Twin Turbo turbocharged V8 engine.

We do not know the exact parameters of the engine, but it could probably be a 4.4-liter power unit from the BMW workshop, which is also fitted to the Range Rover Sport SV. It is from him that the new Defender OCTA will also borrow the new 6D Dynamics chassis system, which should guarantee excellent off-road and road characteristics.

The hydraulically connected 6D Dynamics system controls the movement of body roll in the longitudinal and transverse directions, thanks to which it suppresses lean during acceleration, braking and cornering. At the same time, however, it allows to maximize wheel lift and axle crossing in the terrain.

Diamond motifs will be visible in the interior and exterior

The Defender OCTA thus passes what is said to be the most demanding driving tests in the history of Land Rover Defender models, which include driving on snow and ice in Sweden, driving in the Dubai desert, fast laps on the Nürburgring and rock climbing in the Moab desert.

The premiere of the Defender OCTA flagship model will take place later this year, while those interested can already contact the seller, while potential clients will also be invited to an exclusive preview.
