Since the beginning of its mandate, the current government has been criticized for poor communication with the public and for not explaining its often unpopular actions clearly enough. According to Seznam Zpráv political commentator Václav Dolejší, the government’s Achilles heel is rather protracted disputes within the coalition and some invisible ministers who still give the impression that they are just learning to function in their office.

According to Dolejší, the most visible ministers of Petr Fiala’s current cabinet are Minister of Labor and Social Affairs Marian Jurečka and Minister of Transport Martin Kupka. According to him, both give the impression that they are in control of their resort, and their work is getting results. “Then we see, for example, Helena Langšádlová, or rather we don’t,” the journalist criticizes the Minister for Science and Research for TOP 09, which, according to him, is practically unknown to the public.

“It is completely incomprehensible to me. At a time when we are talking about the transformation of the economy, about new technologies, electromobility, the Grean Deal, Helena Langšádlová should be seen everywhere,” explains the commentator, comparing her work at the ministry especially with the former chairman People’s Party Pavle Bělobrádek, who held the post from 2014 to 2017 and was in the media almost constantly. “She keeps saying that more funding should be given to science and research, but she hasn’t done anything about it,” Dolejší assesses.

According to the commentator, another problem of Petr Fiala’s government is mainly the incessant disputes within the coalition, which mainly revolve around the STAN movement. “It’s cooled down a bit, but I don’t think the relations will ever settle down,” Dolejší points out, in particular, the disputes between Minister of the Interior Vít Rakušan and TOP 09 chairwoman Markéta Pekarová Adamová regarding the election campaign, in which STAN spared no effort in criticizing the work of its government colleagues. “At least Prime Minister Fiala could have told his plan in advance, because then they feel it as such a setback or a dagger in the back, as politicians like to say,” he concludes in Spotlight.

4:55-7:16 What the polls say about support for the Spolu government coalition. Does he have a chance to repeat this union until the next election, or not? And how fundamentally can preferences change in the upcoming election race?

7:16-10:15 If the ANO movement were to succeed in the elections, can commentator Václav Dolejší imagine that someone other than Andrej Babiš would be prime minister? Who would be his most suitable replacement so that ANO has the best possible coalition potential? And how important will those for the European Parliament, Senate or regional councils be for the parliamentary elections?

10:15-16:25 About what is currently playing into the cards of the five-coalition and what could make the declining preference even reverse. What is the worst thing the government does, and who has the biggest shot at goal? Why did the Minister of the Interior Vít Rakušan shake up the government and what effects could it have?

16:25-22:39 What Dolejší thinks about the case of Andrej Babiš, who sent an e-mail requesting information about Foreign Minister Jan Lipavský to another address. Is Babiš such a devil as his political opponents suggest, and is he more like Fico or Orbán?

22:39-25:01 What coalition potential does Tomio Okamura’s SPD have? And is it possible to consider that the ODS would merge with ANO after the elections?
