The largest Blik Blik Festival of Light so far was prepared by the creative zone DEPO2015 in Pilsen over the weekend. The first year was held in 2015 as part of the Pilsen Capital of European Culture project. Its eighth year offered fourteen outdoor installations on Friday and Saturday evenings.

Two other indoor installations, located at the Depot, and the Light Scapes exhibition by Japanese artist Yasuhira Chida at the Ecclesiastical Art Museum were paid for

The route of the night walk, with regard to the chosen theme of Springs, led for the most part along the rivers Mže and Radbuzy in Pilsen, but this year part of the program was also located in OC Olympia in Černice, which is celebrating its 20th anniversary this year and where a bus shuttle service led to the participants.

The most striking installation number 1, reflecting this year’s theme of Springs, awaited the audience on the Mži River, where a giant wall of water rose up, on which a pair of French artists played out a light optical illusion. A Japanese turned the Šafařík family into imaginary water with the work Aftereal Yasuhiro Chida.

The organizers did not forget about the Year of Czech Music, which is announced this year in honor of composers Smetana, Dvořák, Janáček and others. Laser projection specialist Richard Mach prepared a generous Symfonie24 light and laser show at DEPU2015

This year, even three video mappings were prepared on the route. The first on the facade of the Study and Science Library is the work of twelve participants of the second year of the Videomapping School. The second video mapping of Urban Happiness took the form of a big red button (which, when pressed, randomly played one of several projection sequences). The trio of video mappings was concluded by a projection in the facade of OC Olympia.

New this year are the “echoes” of the BLIK BLIK festival, which will take place on April 6 and 7 in the unusual environment of the Kaolinum Nevřeň Center kaolin mine. Visitors can thus look forward to the first festival of light underground
