On Wednesday, the Albert Foundation honored nine Prague organizations that take care of children and families from a socially complex environment. The best projects were decided by customers of local Albert stores in the popular Bertík helps campaign. Over the past four years, support in the capital has risen to almost 2.8 million crowns.

The circumstances of recent years have shown that the Albert Foundation can go far beyond its years of community support. “We are really proud that we were able to distribute 2,770,000 crowns in Prague during the last four years. In addition to regular support, our help also consisted of material donations in the form of disinfectants, gloves, toys, books and school supplies,” she described Vladimíra JičínskáVP Legal & Compliance at Albert and member of the supervisory board of the Albert Foundation.

The ceremonial meeting on the occasion of awarding the winning organizations in the Bertík helps program was held with the support of the capital city of Prague, in the premises of the Old Town Hall. “I was very happy to take over the patronage of this event. I’ve been following Bertík’s campaign for years, and I really like the fact that he cooperates with local organizations in the region and thus supports the togetherness of people who are basically neighbors. It connects communities while helping and showcasing the work of interesting organizations, and that’s very important. The Albert Endowment Fund has been doing great work for years, showing that social responsibility is not a cliché and that it can really be done from the heart.” she said Alexander Uzheniyadeputy mayor of the capital city of Prague and councilor for social affairs.

Bertics help children with school and free time

The twenty-fourth year of the charity program took place in the fall and traditionally connected local communities. Bertíci offers a unique opportunity for the public to learn about the activities and specific stories of local organizations. “Our customers, to whom we owe a lot of thanks, have supported projects in the capital from the immediate vicinity focused on therapeutic assistance, creating experiences, education and overall facilitation of the future entry into adult life,” she specified Alena Paldusovámanager of the Albert Endowment Fund.

Among the nine supported organizations in Prague are the House of Three Wishes, Proxima Sociale, Společnů chutem, Equita Therapy, Community Center Motýlek, Children’s Home from Klánovice, Educational Institute Klíčov, Diagnostic Institute from Prague 2 and Christian Help Center in Horní Počernice.

“We will use the funds for part of the wage costs for employees who, with their professional qualifications and experience, provide support to the clients of the low-threshold club. The main activities include social counseling, crisis intervention, preventive topics and group work,” described the leader of the low-threshold Pacifik club Barbora Janurová.
