Utility and decorative ceramics and other Easter-themed decorations (and without), candles, handmade textile products, decorated flowerpots and vases, flowerpot carvings and various Easter-themed snacks; all this and much more was offered by the five traditional participants of the Easter energy market in Pilsen. Everyone could really choose from the rich offer what was closest to them in view of the upcoming Spring Holidays and thus support the Citizens’ Association Exodus from Třemošná, the Social Services Center STOD, Obchod U Lidušky from Pilsen, FOR Impact from Prague and the Pilsen Civic Association ProCit. Together, they were supported by energy companies with a respectable amount of 51,420 crowns.

Easter markets of sheltered workshops take place regularly in Pilsen, the only exception was the covid period. ČEZ Group employees thus support sheltered workshops and their clients with their purchases, be it for example ceramic workshops or other sheltered workplaces, where disabled fellow citizens can find work commensurate with their disability. This actually creates a full meaning of life for them with integration into society. There is always a huge interest among the energy industry in purchasing products directly from disabled clients of friendly sheltered workshops. It doesn’t matter whether it’s the Easter market or the Christmas market at the end of the year.

“We are a little different from other sheltered workshops because our civic association ProCit offers not only background, but also professional support in the form of social activation services to families with children with disabilities, especially with autism in the age range of 1 to 26 years. So we are more concerned with promoting our activities, which is why we mainly offer products, such as tins with our logo, which are popular among people again. We are therefore absolutely satisfied and thank everyone very much for their support.” said Irena Vítovcová, chairwoman of the association, for which the Easter markets brought in 2,300 crowns.

Tereza Holá, head of the protected ceramic workshop of the Exodus Citizens Association, which offers help to the disabled, organizes retraining courses and social rehabilitation stays, was also very satisfied. “Traditionally, we have come with decorative and utilitarian ceramics not only with Easter motifs. Someone bought a mug or a bowl, others were interested in hares and ducks. A colleague from the digitization protected workshop also offered our options for digitizing VHS tapes, slides, photos, books, documents and the like. We thank everyone for the Easter sales of 8,030 crowns.”

Easter stuffing, lamb and other sausages, decorated gingerbread, sheep’s cheese, as well as crackers, mead, pies and other delicacies were available at another traditional market participant, Obchodu U Liduška, while energy workers left a total of 24,000 crowns here. “We offer regional food from Czech farms and, of course, something from our own production. We think everyone got a rainbow of our goodies after lunch.” the “people” Štěpánka Heřmanová and Vendula Kalousová complemented each other. “Thank you very much to everyone and we look forward to seeing you again before Christmas.”

A representative of FOR Impact (a registered institution with more than a thousand sheltered workshops in its portfolio) left Pilsen with sales of 9,090 crowns, and social workers Zdeňka Kohelová and Běla Vaňáčková from the STOD Social Services Center, which provides complete care for clients with mental retardation, with 8,030 crowns. “We are here for the seventh time with decorative and utilitarian ceramics, candles, various table and wall decorations, handmade soaps and the like. Of course, always with motives corresponding to the markets. Each time, we are mainly surprised by the constant willingness of energy companies to buy. Thank you,” both women agreed.
