Olomouc football fans protest again. Anonymous group of fans open letter to the management of Sigma Olomouc, it has the header: “Olomouk Tribune, 19:19, it’s time to act.” It summarizes four main demands for management, among them is the resignation of the board members. This is another protest in a few days. On the night from Thursday to Friday, someone plastered Andrův Stadium in Olomouc with dozens of posters with an edited photo of Sigma Olomouc football director Ladislav Minář.
“The joyless years of the gradual decline of our club, the years of seeming resignation, when Sigma ceased to interest people, the increasingly empty stands. The club’s treatment of its player legends, which has no parallel in our country,” stated the fans in an open letter to the representatives of the club’s management.
According to fans, the current tense atmosphere was triggered by the appearance of journalist Michal Kvasnica from Deník sport in the Liga naruby podcast. “Sigma is suddenly and finally a topic again, on social networks we can see and read many comments and shares from both fans and the wider public,” it is written further in an open letter.
“We’ve probably all looked at a stadium plastered with posters of a pig’s head with the message “Pigs in charge, give up command”. We are not quite used to such events here, but even from this it is clear that the fans’ anger against the club’s management is really great.” the fans also mention Friday’s event at the Andro stadium, when posters appeared on the doors.
The open letter contains four points that contain the demands of Sigma Olomouc fans, who remain anonymous. They demand, for example, the resignation of some officials from the club’s management, an active search for a future strong partner, or the city of Olomouc’s active interest in the club’s activities.
What specifically do they want?
1. The departure of the main culprits of the current situation, their resignation from positions in the club. According to the fans, at least the following are responsible for the condition Sigma is in and which we described above:
Petr Konečný, chairman of the board of directors as, member of the association’s committee
Ladislav Minář, sports manager, vice-chairman of the board of directors as, member of the association’s committee
Jiří Ficner, financial manager, sports manager, vice chairman of the board of directors as, member of the committee
Martin Major, supervisory board of the club
2. The task for members of the club’s management (other than those named above) – to actively search for a potential future strong partner who will join the club – as an owner, benefactor, sponsor. A trusted partner with a clear vision of the further development of the club.
3. We want the management of the city of Olomouc to take an active interest in all the missteps and the slow destruction of the most famous and largest club in the region. The political representation of the city represents us, the citizens of Olomouc. Therefore, we appeal to all of you, contact the town hall and your representatives in the City Council and the City Council. The city not only co-owns Sigma, it also owns the stadium. City = WE.
4. We demand an open meeting of the club. The possibility of fans joining the SK Sigma Olomouc MŽ association, zs. A place for fan representatives in the Association Committee. People in the management of the club cannot be uncontrollable, irrevocable, and at the same time have all the power concentrated in their hands.
