The Slavs are preparing a number of investment events this year

“A lot of investments are planned for 2024 within our district, we would like to present at least some of them. The restoration of the much-used Chvojkovy lomy park, which was created on the site of a former sand pit in the sixties of the last century, will certainly make the residents happy. states mayor Slovan Lumír Aschenbrenner. The modifications concern the walkway above the lake, which was fundamentally transformed at the end of the nineties. “However, the walkway has not been reconstructed even once since its inception, and its condition therefore corresponds to that. We have therefore commissioned a study and project documentation to the architectural studio AVE architekt, a.s. for the restoration of this part of the park.” explains mayor. After the completion of the implementation, this neglected place should be transformed into the heart of the popular park.

The district is also preparing a novelty for the widely used cycle path along the Radbuzy river, which is currently getting a new face. Residential houses are being built here and the space is gradually changing. Last year’s implementation of the lookout on the siding pillar and the expansion of part of the bike path contributed significantly to the revitalization of this very popular place. “This year, we want to continue modifying this quiet zone. In place of the original wooden benches and deckchairs between the river and the bike path, a residential meadow will be created. At the moment, the study by the architect Pavel Štichy has been completed and approved, and negotiations are underway with the relevant state administration authorities before the execution of the project documentation and building permit.” describing Eva Trůková, deputy mayor of the Slavic district.

The two-storey extension of the fire station is now being built next to the existing building in Údolní Street in Božkov. Due to the favorable climatic conditions, construction work has been underway since the beginning of this year. Thanks to it, the garage area will be expanded on the ground floor, and a meeting room including relevant social facilities will be added on the first floor. The construction will be completed by the end of this year.

The municipal district of Plzeň 2 – Slovany takes care of its kindergartens on an ongoing basis. The 21st Kindergarten in Na Celchu Street is awaiting a major investment event this year. The local kitchen from the 1960s will undergo a complete renovation. Installation of new electrical distribution, waste, replacement of paving, wall covering and new air conditioning will be carried out. The kitchen will also receive new modern gastro equipment. Due to the complexity and scope of the implementation, the event is planned for the summer holidays in order to interfere as little as possible with the normal operation of the maternity hospital.

The reconstruction of the lift will take place in the 23rd Kindergarten in Topolová Street. The 1973 food elevator shaft still has a wooden hand-operated elevator cabin. They are already swollen and unusable. In addition, the existing elevator does not meet hygienic conditions. “Cooks certainly deserve that we make their demanding profession easier by installing a modern food elevator. The work will take place during the summer shutdown,” he says Eva Trůková.

This year, the 5th Kindergarten in Zelenohorská street will receive electronic building security. This kindergarten is the last in the district where it is missing.

Due to the extreme temperatures in previous years, the Slavonic district had air conditioning units installed in the bedrooms of some kindergartens to enable the children to have quality rest. This year, it will continue in eight more buildings. These are 2nd Kindergarten, 17th Kindergarten, 23rd Kindergarten, 25th Kindergarten. 37th Kindergarten, 38th Kindergarten, 51st Kindergarten and 89th Kindergarten. Most of them should be installed by the end of June, so that the air conditioning can be fully used by the nurseries in the summer.
