Finally spring. Winter is over, we can slowly start switching to summer tires, temperatures are rising, and so are the ranges of electric cars. However, Easter also belongs to this period, which is associated with several increased risks in terms of transport.
Insurance company Uniqa has drawn attention to them, so let’s take a look together at what motorists need to be aware of during Easter.
Monday
The big risk of the Easter season is precisely Monday, when the carolers go out to carol with poms or other instruments, in order to ensure the health of the visiting ladies throughout the year. The reward for this is eggs, sweets, but often also alcohol.
And if there is more, then it is a problem. Because carolers, who are found to an increased extent near roads, may slip or trip due to impaired coordination, which can harm themselves in particular. The painter is if they trip in front of your car…
Alcohol
We will stay with alcohol, because it appears behind the wheel at a higher rate during Easter, on the basis of which the police usually react with increased checks, however, many traffic accidents still happen.
Don’t forget, however, that if you take a breath, the insurance company will most likely cover the damages caused by your driving, but they will then recover that amount from you.
We would also like to remind you that for driving under the influence of alcohol, you will lose your papers for up to 18 months, you will receive a fine as big as the BMW XM shapes, and if your alcohol level is confirmed above 0.3 per thousand, even 6 points on your driver’s card. In addition, residual alcohol is also a risk, however, not so much because of the amount, but because of fatigue.
Hats
At Easter, expect increased traffic on the roads, where queues may occur, and therefore other traffic complications associated with heavy traffic. The big phenomenon of Easter is also festive drivers or hatters. These drivers, mostly seniors equipped with the typical headgear, hit the road, but because they rarely drive, so does their style and speed.
Therefore arm yourself with patience, anticipate the second, expect the unexpected. And also put on consideration, without it it just won’t work.
Discotheques
The “disco crash” phenomenon, which we discussed in detail in this articlebecomes even more important during the Easter season, when young people want to party until late at night or early in the morning.
The subsequent trip home with a full car, usually on second- and third-class roads, sometimes ends up crashing into a tree, sometimes fatally. Either because of the fatigue/condition of the driver or because of his car, which although it bears the BMW E36 badge, is technically a wreck.
Foreign countries
Extended time off beckons for trips abroad, including Slovakia, where you can meet with an accident, for which it is advisable to have travel insurance in addition to a valid liability insurance, but also with the fact that your vehicle will simply end its service. It is therefore worthwhile to have any towing from abroad also covered by insurance.
We wish you that Easter really is a peaceful holiday without carambolas or disturbances. So happy miles!
