Varnsdorf’s football players drew 1:1 at home against Líšní in the preliminaries of the 20th round of the second league. In the final reckoning, it is not enough for the team from the north of Bohemia.

The guests took the lead in the 33rd minute, when Polášek opened the score of the match. After changing sides, Vojta quickly equalized. However, Varnsdorf did not get the desired second goal, it is in thirteenth position in the table.
“It was about conquest. We tried to somehow overcome Líšen. We had a certain plan going into the match, but we didn’t succeed. The opponent caught us by surprise with their formation and, in fact, with their formation. The visitors performed very well, especially in defense,” said Varnsdorf coach Miroslav Holeňák.
“We are satisfied with the point. We played outside, and our lineup was spread out. But we don’t want to make excuses for that. I appreciate the result, it’s simply a draw with a tough opponent,” admitted Milan Valachovič, coach of SK Líšeň.

The team from Kotlina would have needed a win in the fight for survival, but the winning goal did not come. “The Fox had dangerous counter-attacks and we couldn’t intercept them. I respect the players that they did not pack it in the second half and had a great desire to turn the game around. Maybe we lacked more quality, like getting around one-on-one, or stuffing ourselves more in the end. We knew it would be a tough match, but the points are few,” added Holeňák.
“Two situations were key for the entire match. At 0:0, Varnsdorf had a great chance. If he converted, it would be much more difficult for us. On the other hand, when we were leading, there were two great chances,” added Valachovič.
