According to the Czech Hydrometeorological Institute (ČHMÚ), the air temperature in Doksany reached 20.5 degrees Celsius on Wednesday. This is one tenth more than the previous measurement record from 1974.

“Ahead of a cold front advancing into Central Europe from the southwest, very warm air from the south flowed into our territory yesterday. At 20 stations out of 167, which measure more than 30 years, the temperature record was broken,” stated the ČHMÚ staff. Regular measurements have been taking place in Doksany for 73 years.

The hottest temperature in the entire Czech Republic was March 27 at the Rožnov station in České Budějovice, where the thermometer showed 22.1 °C. Which was four tenths more than the previous record from 2006. And in Nové Strakonice, where yesterday’s 21.1 °C was “enough” to surpass the maximum from the same year. The third place was occupied by Doksany.
