In addition to ice cream, barbecues and lazy days by the water or spending time in nature, warm weather also includes music festivals. Wallachia is no exception, which is hard to imagine without folklore. This will be confirmed on June 21 to 23 in Vsetín, where, after the traditional annual break, the 12th edition of the International Folklore the Vsetínský krpec festival.

A varied program on the main stage in Svárov, in the Manská Garden and in the House of Culture will offer dance, theater and music programs by ensembles from Bohemia, Moravia, Silesia and abroad. The band Docuku and the ensemble Ondráš will also present themselves with a music-dance production of the Goddess. The traditional competition for the title of the best Wallachian odzemek and baton dancer cannot be missed. Entry to outdoor events is free. It also has its firm place in the cultural calendar in Wallachia every year folk-blues-beat festival Valašský spálíček, which takes place in Valašské Meziříčí. This year, from June 19 to 22, its 42nd year will take place in the grounds of the local Žerotín castle.

This year, the audience will be offered almost thirty performers from the Czech Republic, Great Britain, the USA, Poland and Slovakia. Among others, there will be the British Dave Kelly Band, Story & Milan Kňažko (SK), Vladimír Merta, Jan Hrubý, Iva Bittová, The Plastic People of the Universe (Egon Bondy Tour 2024), Boogie Boys, Phil Shöenfelt, Tango and many others. They will celebrate a quarter century this summer the Good Old Western festival, which always takes place on the first weekend of August in the beautiful surroundings of the Bystřička dam in the Vsetín region. Since its inception, it has been reborn from what was originally a one-day music show into one of the biggest festivals of country, bluegrass and tramp music in our country. The twenty-fifth year will be held on August 2 – 4, 2024, on three stages and over three days, offering three dozen musical performances by professional and amateur bands from the Czech Republic and abroad.

This year, among others, the queen of Czech country Věra Martinová with the band Meritum, Vojta Nedvěd and Tie Break or Tomáš Linka with the band Přímá linka will perform. There will be a traditional open-air country ball, country dances and a rich accompanying program in country & western style.
