The castle published a record of the controversial meeting with ANO on the pension reform

--

“The representatives of the ANO movement did not dispute the necessity of raising the retirement age, however, they do not agree with the specific proposed method of its implementation (the so-called infinite principle). Rather, they prefer a gradual method with a ceiling always set for the given period,” says the recording of the meeting, prepared by the president’s adviser Vladimír Bezděk.

According to him, the representatives of the ANO movement and the government also agreed that without changes the first pension pillar is not financially sustainable in the long term. “They consider it sustainable in the long term if the difference between income and expenditure of the pension system does not exceed the limit of approx. 1% of GDP per year,” adds the material.

The representatives of the ANO movement then expressed their interest in the current analysis of the sustainability of the pension system, which the Ministry of Labor must prepare by law this spring.

At the end of the meeting, its actors also distributed tasks among themselves. The Ministry of Labor was supposed to prepare a procedure for arriving at the current draft of the range of demanding professions that will be able to retire earlier.

The representatives of the ANO movement were to prepare comments on the current way of defining demanding professions and a description of their idea of the key principles and parameters of the second pillar. The actors were supposed to meet again this Monday.

ANO also outlined its idea of the second pillar at the previous meeting. The pillar was supposed to be motivational and the funds on it were to be managed by becoming a state guarantee of yield. Investments should be made in long-term infrastructure projects, and client participation should be voluntary rather than mandatory.

“On the part of the ANO movement, it is necessary to work on adjustments in the first pillar and the creation of the second pillar in parallel,” adds Bezděk’s document.
