The gloomy subway came to life with large photographs of women, already attacked by a vandal

Twenty-eight large-format photographs measuring 150 by 100 centimeters appeared on the concrete wall of the underpass. These are exclusively female portraits. Their authors are eight artistic photographers from the Czech Republic and Slovakia. Among others, Lucie Jechov, Kamila Dettlaff, Karel evk, Petr Knick and Martin Skivnek, he is the organizer of the event in these urban areas.

The daily press of people will pass through the main tunnel connecting the cotton factory area with Trnic, other shops and the hotel, and the photographs will be exhibited not only in their size, but also in Skivnek.

It is certain that no one will look at them, but it can also have a negative impact. A 17-year-old boy, who walked through the tunnel with his friends, pulled the photo for so long, and damaged their attachment to the wall. Because the city is being watched by cameras, a patrol of the city police went there. The young man had a blood alcohol level of 1.6 per thousand.

For his part, he stated that there was not a reasonable enough explanation for him, and he acknowledged that it was not a very smart move, said Pavel Jank.

The installation Zlnsk podchod is part of the Czech Art Photo 2024 event and will last until May 13. It is accompanied by an exhibition in the premises of the Zlín town hall, where Skivnka’s sketch photographs under the name Royal Air Force can be seen.

The city wanted to use the underpass first as a gallery. He is gradually buying up the stores that are in his possession. The exact future shape of the interior will depend on whether the town hall can acquire all the stores.
