The police are investigating the origin of millions of the leader of the Kutnohorsk sect | iRADIO

--

For twenty years, he collected 500 crowns from each client for a healing session, later he had followers send him hundreds of thousands and even millions. When Richard Šiffer, the leader of the Kutnohorsk sect, died a year and a half ago, he had over 133 million crowns in his accounts. His dubious business is now being dealt with by the Central Bohemian economic crime branch. Spokesperson Vlasta Suchánková confirmed this to iROZHLAS.cz and Radiožurnál.

The Central Bohemian Economic Crime Unit is investigating the healing practices and earnings of the leader of the Kutnohorsk sect, Richard Šiffer, on suspicion of committing the crime of unauthorized business.

“As part of the criminal proceedings, funds in the order of several tens of millions of crowns were secured these days,” confirmed the server iROZHLAS.cz and Radiožurnál, spokeswoman for the Central Bohemian Police, Vlasta Suchánková.

After the leader of the sect died suddenly in the fall of 2022, he was left with only two accounts in one of the banks, in which he accumulated 133,924,049 crowns. This follows from documents that the iROZHLAS.cz server and Radiožurnál had the opportunity to view.

Two of his followers, dentist Magdalena Š. and pensioner Irena S., are accused of the murder of the healer from Kutnohor, which is now being heard by the Prague city court. They claim that he convinced them that after his death his body would also disappear to the other shore, as for several years he proclaimed.

A million here, a million there

Both members of the sect also contributed significantly to the final amount that Šiffer managed to “save” in more than twenty years of healing. For the entire time, he collected 500 crowns in cash from his clients for one session. In the first years, patients visited him individually for half an hour, but later he “treated” groups of up to six people at a time. Some of the clients then described that up to 400 people could visit him weekly in his apartment.

The sect members themselves gave him large sums of money. Sometimes because they wanted to redeem themselves from their sins, he told them. Other times they sent money to his account because he promised them a better interest rate.

So did the women who are now on trial, which is why the police had previously ruled out that they killed him for a financial motive. The accused dentist Magdalena was supposed to send him over three million crowns, and in the last year of his life, when they were a couple, she gave him all her earnings. In this way, she could regularly provide him with much higher financial resources.

The unrealized plan of the leader of the Kutnohorsk sect Richard: houses with the golden section for the most loyal members

Even more was then supposed to be sent to him by the accused retired teacher Irena. The police came to the amount of approximately 38 million crowns, but they also gave him money in cash, so the amount could be much higher.

Another source of Šiffer’s income was the so-called letters, in which members had to describe events they regret and their bad qualities. He then collected from a thousand crowns to several tens of thousands for such letters. He claimed that only thanks to them, their souls would be able to leave with him to a better world. Rather, he used them for further blackmail.

At other times, he had commissions paid to him, for example, for the sale of real estate. One of the members stated before the court that although he did not participate in the sale, he later claimed 100,000 crowns. He claimed that the house sold because of him because he influenced it with his abilities.

Community near Malešov?

He also raised several million when he claimed to his followers that he planned to build a separate headquarters from the rest of the company, where they would move en masse. He planned a project of up to eight houses in the town of Malešov, but the number, as Richard’s former followers describe, has changed many times.

All houses in close proximity were to be specific in that they would be built in the so-called golden ratio, i.e. in a harmonious ratio of parts to the whole and parts to each other.

Do you need help?

If you feel that you or a loved one is experiencing something similar, you don’t know how to get out of the community, or you need help, you can turn to several services that operate in the Czech Republic. There is a First Psychic Helpline – the number is 116 123. You can call it from anywhere for free. There is a White Circle of Safety for crime victims. It is also possible to contact him. Or contact the experts from the advice center of the Society for the Study of Sects and New Religious Movements at the Hussite Theological Faculty of Charles University.

“They were deposits for land worth about 2.8 million crowns. He wanted me to send it to him,” said one of the members of the sect before the court.

It has already been decided what will happen to the money, because the only heir of the healer Šiffer is his son. He told the newspaper Blesk last May that he had not thought about them yet and if there was an opportunity, he would probably return them to Šiffer’s clients.

Kutnohorsk sect

The Kutnohorsk community became known only after the dentist Magdalena and the pensioner Irena, according to the indictment, killed the sect leader Richard on the night of October 4, 2022, in an apartment in Prague’s Hájy. Both women are accused of murder before the Municipal Court in Prague. The indictment states that the doctor of pedagogy had previously confirmed to the dentist that she must comply with the man’s wish to die.

It became clear at court that the murdered fifty-year-old man worked as a self-proclaimed healer in Kutná Hora.He gathered followers around him who followed his instructions in their personal and professional lives. Witnesses testified that he abused them physically and mentally.

Three months before Richard’s death, two men died in the community. Both cases are still being investigated by the police. In connection with the death that occurred near the Český Šternberk castle, she has already charged six people from the closest circle of Richard’s followers.
