Canada won bronze medals at last year’s World Championships in Switzerland. In the semi-final, it was not high enough 2:7 against the Swedes, and in the subsequent match for 3rd place, it managed to beat Slovakia. The holders of four gold medals in this category are among the biggest favorites of the tournament, although they do not have the strongest possible team due to the play-offs of the junior competitions. The biggest hope of the Canadian team for this tournament is Gavin McKenna, who collected 97 points in the WHL this season.
