On Sunday night, workers will demolish the bridge over the D1 highway near Řehořov in Jihlavsk. The section between Velký Beranov and Měřín will therefore be completely closed from 9 p.m. to 9 a.m. on Sunday. According to the Supreme Audit Office, the bridge is in a state of emergency. The locals therefore came to say goodbye to him, and also to express their disapproval of the fact that the Directorate of Roads and Highways does not plan to replace him.

Drivers will have to exit in Velký Beranov when driving towards Brno, or in Měřín when driving towards Prague. The bypass route for passenger cars will lead through the villages of Zhoř, Stáj, Arnolec and Černá, with the fact that in Arnolec they will have to split due to a sharp bend, therefore drivers driving towards Brno will drive towards the village of Jersín. Cars over three and a half tons will go around the section through the village of Řehořov, in both directions. At two places on this route, however, they have to count on shuttle traffic due to the lower load capacity of the road.
According to the Supreme Audit Office, the problem with the bridge lies in the tension rope that holds the entire structure together. In the future, it would thus be impossible to ensure road or agricultural traffic on it.
In fact, bridging was mainly used on the way to the field, which is across the highway from the village of Řehořov. In addition, a tourist route led across the bridge. That is also why the residents sought to have the Directorate of Roads and Highways build a replacement for the demolished bridge. But that is not planned, the directorate only offered help with the administration in the event that the municipality would take care of the construction itself.
Nevertheless, the settlement committee in Řehořov wants to continue fighting for the restoration of the bridge, because the highway crosses the cadastre and because of it, other access routes to the fields have disappeared in the past.
The inhabitants of the village therefore gathered at the bridge in the evening to say goodbye to him. However, the gathering also fulfills a certain form of protest against the demolition, with which the settlement committee wants to show that it insists on replacing the bridge. Locals light candles, and refreshments are also available. The firemen also started a fire, on which the participants of the last farewell can roast something.
