While on Wednesday the frosts were supposed to occur only in the westernmost highlands of Bohemia, on Thursday at the stroke of midnight the warning will spread to other areas across the republic. The warning will apply in Vysočín, Karlovy Vary, Plzeň, South Bohemia and parts of the Ústí, Liberec, Královéhradecky, Pardubice, Olomouc, South Moravian and Moravian-Silesian regions.

On Friday, the frost warning will be extended to the rest of the territory. Expected minimum temperatures should range most often between 1 and -3 °C

“The following nights will be warmer, only on the night of Saturday in the south-west and west of Bohemia there may still be ground frosts,” added the Czech Hydrometeorological Institute (ČHMÚ).

Similar to the past few days, the freezing temperatures, which in some places fell below -10 °C, threaten to damage vegetables, flowering trees and vineyards. The list of damages that growers are currently trying to estimate may not be final.

In addition to the frost on Thursday, meteorologists are also expecting more intense precipitation, which will initially be snowy at altitudes above 400 meters and later from 800 meters above sea level.
