The Union of European Football Associations (UEFA) fined Slavia a total of 87,000 euros (roughly 2.2 million crowns) for the behavior of the fans in the rematch of the round of 16 with AC Milan (1:3) in Eden.

Supporters of the Vršovice club were guilty of throwing cups at opposing players, chanting “UEFA mafia” and blocking the stairs. The captain of the team, Tomáš Holeš, will not play one of the next matches in the European Cups due to suspension.

The people of Prague were worried about the closing of some stands, which did not happen. Slavia was fined a total of 91,625 euros (about 2.23 million crowns) for the events during the autumn Europa League home match against AS Rome (2:0) in the group, which is the highest monetary penalty that the UEFA disciplinary committee has so far awarded. In addition, the people of Prague had the North stand conditionally closed, and assistant coach Zdeněk Houštecký received a one-match suspension for unsportsmanlike conduct.

The story was repeated in the rematch with another Italian club. The disciplinary commission criticized Slavia for organizational shortcomings and the behavior of fans in the stands. The people of Prague have to pay 32,000 euros for blocking the stairs and exits, which is a traditional problem in the Sever stand. According to UEFA, the fans were also guilty of provocative and insulting slogans (20,000 euros) and throwing objects onto the playing field (35,000 euros).

Thanks to participation and results in the Europa League, Slavia earned 12.43 million euros (316 million crowns) this season.

In revenge, the Slavists unsuccessfully overcame the 2:4 defeat from Milan, and they again finished by ten. At the time of the greatest pressure from the home team, the Swedish referee Nyberg, after a long consultation with the video referee, excluded Holeš, who stepped on Calabria’s ankle. The Prague team lasted six minutes less than in the opening match, in which Diouf was sent off in the 26th minute.

The red card triggered emotions on the pitch and in the stands, from where several drinking cups flew onto the playing field. After a series of controversial fights, coach Trpišovský also received a yellow card for protesting.

Some fans later responded to the challenge of the Slavia management and admitted to throwing objects on the playing field. He will make up for it with public works for the benefit of the club. Jaroslav Tvrdík, the chairman of the board of Pražani, informed about this on the X social network, saying that other culprits face a fine of up to 50,000 crowns and a two-year ban on entering all matches at Eden.
