“We weren’t ready in our heads. It’s sad, but there’s nothing we can do about it now. Of course, we have to put it behind us as quickly as possible. And we’ll give it to each other in the last match,” said a disappointed Musil. “It is not for nothing that they say that the last step is the hardest,” added the twenty-seven-year-old forward.

On Sunday, the regular season winners and the main favorites to win the title will need a completely different set-up. The uniqueness of the moment can also help – not all players play a decisive seventh game during their career.

“We definitely have to set ourselves up positively. Just getting to the final is an experience, now it’s the seventh match, although of course we didn’t want it. We have to set our heads right, prepare one hundred percent and I believe we can do it,” declared Musil.

The two rivals will repeat the seventh game of the series in a matchup after a year. Dynamo also had the advantage of the home environment in the semi-finals last year at 3:3, scoring the opening goal, but in the end, after a 2:1 result, Třinec celebrated advancing to the finals and won its fourth title in a row.

Now Pardubice can settle accounts with the opponent. “We have it in our heads,” Musil nodded. “There is a quality team against us and it is certainly no coincidence that they are sixth in the finals. Their squad has experience and fighting spirit. It cannot surprise us that it goes to the seventh game and we will give it all away,” stated Musil.

In the third period with a score of 3:0 for Ocelář, he tried to energize the team with a fight with Daniel Voženílk. The second pair was formed by Adam Helewka and Matej Paulovič. Everyone then collected a five-minute penalty.

“I didn’t go there with the intention of fighting, but what happened happened. He (Voženílek) caught me in the tie, so he must expect something to happen. But we have to play hockey and want to win on the ice. That we’re going to fight, it won’t help anything. We need to improve in all aspects and carry that fighting spirit into the last match,” said Musil.

This was also what was at stake at the end of Friday’s fight – it was necessary to get in the best possible mood for Sunday. If nothing else, the Pardubice goalkeeper Ondřej Kacetl took a record 14th shutout in the playoffs.

“I hope that we will bounce back from that final pressure. But no one will deal with what happened anymore. The match starts at 0-0. It will depend on how we enter the match with the gusto and fighting spirit. I believe that we will tune in on the right note, we will be disciplined and it will be good,” Musil wished.
